TENADO PROTECT makes it possible to meet legal requirements when creating escape, rescue and fire protection plans – and to work effectively and quickly. The powerful CAD program was developed from the ground up for organizational fire protection. Expert users can find their way around immediately and automatically plan more flexibly and economically. The Hamburg-based company brandmauer-nord GmbH & Co. KG has been using TENADO PROTECT since the beginning of 2010. In an interview, managing director Björn Schmidtke and Christopher von Bronewski, specialist planner for preventive fire protection, reveal what advantages the software offers and where it is used.

“Since it was founded in 2006, our company has developed in several directions. 6 pillars form the most important business areas,” reports Björn Schmidtke. “The first pillar is fire protection. We are also certified first aid instructors. In the area of emergency management, we work on fire protection and evacuation concepts as well as fire brigade, escape and rescue plans. Other building blocks are the fire protection technology, which includes, for example, fire extinguisher and smoke detector maintenance as well as occupational safety and occupational medicine. We’re noticing more and more that today’s customers want everything from a single source.

Extensive libraries

According to Christopher von Bronewski, TENADO PROTECT is a comprehensive complete package: “The software contains everything we need to process our orders in accordance with standards and to display this graphically. These include, for example, templates, colors or definitions. The libraries with the ready-made characters according to the standard are to be emphasized. They are extremely extensive and complete, including signs for escape and rescue plans according to DIN 23601, ISO safety signs according to 7010 or fire brigade signs according to DIN 14095. One of our reference projects is an industrial plant. We implemented the escape and rescue planning as well as the fire protection planning for the property within a few days. One of the customer’s specifications was that the plans of the halls had to be shown separately. Therefore, we first divided the floor plan. TENADO PROTECT offers a wide range of ready-made legends, including multilingual templates. However, we have adapted the title blocks for our purposes, e.g. B. when building the head. This is quick and you can create your own libraries without much effort. Since we naturally always adhere to the specified standards, we often work with the position lines in the program. In this way, the plan always remains clear and conforms to standards. "Quick & easy, the promise is kept"

“When working with TENADO PROTECT, the advertising slogan “quick & easy” always comes to mind. I can say that the promise is actually being kept,” explains Christopher von Bronewski. Support is also not neglected: “If we have any questions, we immediately receive a telephone tutorial. If the solution cannot be found directly, a TENADO employee will call you back within a very short time. The service is really great!” TENADO PROTECT is a complete package that supports the user and is equipped with intelligent functions such as e.g. B. the “seating generator” saves valuable click time: After selecting the type of seating, the number and the distances, entire rows of chairs can be easily dragged and placed at the desired location. The symbols also work in a similarly clever way, because they adapt in their size and orientation. That is why the symbols are always in the correct position and conform to standards, even if the plan is rotated. All relevant basics are included in the plan templates, which enables a quick start into the project. The selection ranges from the fire protection ordinance to escape and rescue plans, fire brigade route maps to room plans.
