Lukas Brohammer, owner of BroCAD, is not only an experienced design engineer and at home in metal construction, but also a long-time TENADO user. The master metalworker is now one of the first customers to test the new TENADO METALL 3D and has taken the time to answer some of our customers’ most burning questions.

How long have you been testing the beta version of the new TENADO METALL 3D and how much time are you investing in it?
I was given the first version in February. Since then, I have spent around two to four hours a week intensively testing the program.
What progress have you noticed between the individual updates of the beta version?
From my point of view, the progress is really good, although I can’t judge the speed of program development.
How user-friendly would you rate the new TENADO METALL 3D?
The metal construction functions are very similar to the old program. Therefore, the changeover is not difficult. The basic program with the basic CAD functions is very user-friendly and I think you will quickly find your way around, even if you have no previous experience with it.
Which features do you particularly like and why?
Clearly: point clouds and an improved product structure. And I assume that this TENADO METALL 3D will make it even easier to handle larger projects.
Which functions do you find particularly important and practical?
The extensive possibilities that point clouds offer a designer are really practical. The Revit connection will also be important in the future because it simply provides an important and reliable BIM interface. And at no additional cost.
Point clouds: What are the advantages for our users?
In the new program, it will be possible to scan an entire environment using a 3D scanner and reproduce it one-to-one in the software. Almost like a photo, but I can then define work surfaces myself or work with specific points. This is a big advantage for me because I can’t be on site in person for the projects.
